It was yet another pretty lackluster first half from the Troggs in a scrappy game, the main talking point was Kennington moaning at an admittedly poor referee performance whilst giving away the majority of the fouls themselves. Kennington took the lead as their striker rushed through past a stumbling naden to slot past Brown and Pearce -who fancied himself as a second keeper- but couldn't prevent the goal in what was seen by a few on the sideline a rare miss judgement from the striker otherwise relishing his new sweeping role. Watching reserve Team manager Arch suggested Pearce might be seen more in this position for the goons next season. Adamson, lacking match fitness in just his 3rd first team outing this term, has struggled to re-find the form that used to have defenders quaking in their boots, but Roffey looked lively (until the end product-again!) as did gibbs down the right wing and the midfield trio of Newman, Potter and Bruce worked hard but Troggs failed to produce anything more clear cut and came in 1-0 down at half time The second half saw Kennington extend their lead- Brown was helpless as a cross was whipped low into box and dogman lost his man at the far post. Roffey found space on the left wing and was hauled down whilst arguably through on goal- red card perhaps?...apparently not even a booking as the ref continued to annoy both teams. Troggs found their way back into the game as the ref finally found the bottle to give a decision when a Kennington defender handled in the box. Pearce had a long walk up from his unfamiliar sweeper role but there was nothing unfamiliar about the finish as the former Troggs top scorer slotted into the bottom right(see gif below) Troggs arguably had the better chances but saw them come and go, young Charlie Potter somehow headed over at the back post with the goal at his mercy and Roffey pulled out a classic moon-esq standing leg strike when surely any other contact would have resulted in a goal. Kennington put the game to bed with a third but the atmosphere was marred by some more slagging off the ref, somehow getting away with swearing in his face and moaning comments like "give them their moment they have stayed up" - Well yes we have; quite comfortably and that's all we ever wanted from this season and we also small boy'd you 3-0 earlier in the season and were unlucky not to get something out of this game with 6 of our first teamers missing Troggs end the season on a bit of a downer and with bliby beating aldington they drop to 4th till the weekend when they will probably drop to 5th or even 6th but we stayed up, ruffled some feathers and turned over some big teams (not least kennington 3-0 !! ) and so its a season to be proud of whatever the league position. More alarming for me is the goal difference of just +4 - when you've got the best keeper in the league at one end this outlines the need for a goal scorer at the other next season to play alongside Roff when matts off to Uni. All credit to Matt and Roff for effort this year but neither has been exactly been prolific (Roff 10, Matt 8?) For the first half at least the team looked like one that wasn't used to playing together. Struggling to organise in the center of the park the Troggs were under some heavy pressure and despite several wonderstops from MOM brown one, they eventually succumb to the pressure on 30mins going 1-0 down. Despite being under the kosh several counter attacks were carved out with Dyke and Roff coming close for the Troggs. Pearce took a knock and seemed to be struggling and had to swap round with matt dyke then to make matters worse Carty went down with a back spasm and had to come off shortly before half time for reserve team player of the year Charlie Potter. At half time reserve team gaffa arch had a few words with the boys and it seemed to do the trick. Pearce had to drop back to sweeper with brucer moving into the midfield trio with Potter and Newman. Potter and Bruce both showed tremendous hard work and got the Troggs back into the game, the team looking a lot better all over the pitch. Potter found Roffey with one of several chipped through balls, who rounded the keeper wide only to place his shot into the side netting. Newman came close with 2 edge of the box strikes and also a quickly taken free kick which caught the keeper off guard but unfortunately just missed the far post. Paul Burt got marching orders for Bliby on 75mins after an altercation with Troggs hard man Ben Gibbs but despite the extra man for the last 15 and a much better second half performance the Troggs failed to get back into the game and it disappointingly ended 1-0 to the visitors. Elsewhere in the league Bromley green drew 2-2 with aldington and bethersden eased past hapless cavaliers as the chasing pack close the gap on the Troggs whose second spot looks severly under threat in the final week and a respectable 4th or 5th finish looks on the cards for the Smardeners. A solid display from troggs saw 3 points gained from a quality strike from adam roffey with the last kick of the game. The back 3 of tony, lee and bruce were awesome. This win makes up for getting beaten over at their place.

Troggs 1-1 Bromley Green
Troggs disappoint against the Green
Troggs failed to take their chances against bromley green on Sunday carving out just a point in a 1-1 bore draw.
Moon returned to the starting line up with Adamson returning to the fold to partner Roffey up top at the expense of Matt Dyke. With Dyke Snr (broken arm), Leggis (knee ligaments) both out till next season and Loppy (dodgy old man knees) not passed fit, stocker called in pepper to the bench but the Troggs fans and players alike still fancied a possible 6 point haul over the green this season with the attacking talent on display. Brown in nets, Dyer swepped behind Lee and Carty, the energetic Eels at LWB, Gibbo at RWB/ST, Chunk and Tommy doing the dirty work in the middle allowing Moon the freedom behind Roff and Maggot.
Dictating much of the play in the first half the Troggs played some nice football in the first two thirds of the pitch but again suffered from what's becoming an all too familiar sight; lacking the quality or composure in the final third to make any moves pay off. Roff and Moon seemed to do everything right until their finishing and it was Adamson who came closest with a quick turn and thunderous left footed drive tipped over by the Greens keeper. The strike was reminiscent of the old Andy Adamson, although overall he still looks a little off his former best (pace and weight in particular!), but understandably so having made only a handful of appearances at reserve level this season.
It was Green who took the lead after Brown one did well to parry a strike only for the unmarked striker to poke the rebound home, although perfectionist brown was reportedly unhappy not to have held onto the ball or turned it away out of danger.
A half time pep talk from the big man seemed to have been gone to waste as more sloppy play and unforced errors ensued but the Troggs finally found their way back into the game as Roffey found his scoring touch in the nick of time to level 1-1. Matt Dyke then entered the fray on for sweeper Dyer with Adamson dropping in at left back and stocker opting for a 4-4-2, but with the young striker failing to rediscover his early season form the gamble didn't pay dividends. Andy Pepper came on left wing for the busy Eels. The reserve team top scorer is looking a much improved and more composed player this year and on this his third outing for the first team, notably cutting inside on one occasion and striking well from 25 yards only to see his effort sail past the far post.
in the end a point is a point and the first draw of the season but the Troggs will know the chance was there to take all three and improve their unexpected haul.
That said troggs have been put out of cups 3 times in the previous 3 seasons by the green and had you offered stocker 4 points pre season from the two meetings i'm sure he would have bitten your arm off.

Report by Tommy Carlton
In what could have been a bit of a 'banana skin' match, the Troggs got back to winning ways by doing what they have been known to do better than most teams over the years. Work Hard. The team started well for the first twenty minutes - clearly motivated by a stirring, yet emotional pre match speach. They then allowed Cavaliers to get back in the game - possibly due to a couple of injuries to the Smarden outfit - but the home team probably had the better of the rest of the first period with some decent crosses from the right causing problems.
During the secong half the two teams seemed to be cancelling each other out a bit with neither side creating many clear chances. The game changed however on the hour mark with the introduction of a young substitute. His youthful enthusiasm and tireless drive instantly galvanised the Troggs as they quickly had chances on goal. Quite where this young whipper-snapper gets his energy is a mystery but it was no surprise when he was at the heart of the decisive secong goal.
Credit to Log for doing the decent thing when the Cavaliers striker was through on goal, and in tough conditions I thought everyone put an honest shift in. What we really need is for this weeks game to be on and for us to do exactly the same again. Work hard, take responsibility and keep the belief that we can get back to the top of the league.

Mersham 2-0 Troggs
Bad day at the Office for Stocker Men
Troggs slumped to their second defeat to Mersham this season after going down 2-0 to the Division 1 outfit in the cup. Mersham, who are unbeaten this season in all competitions, last lost a game when the Troggs visited at the end of last season in a crucial Division 1 encounter that saw the Troggs run out comfortable 3-0 winners and eventually led to their promotion to the premiership, leaving Mersham behind.
Mersham, who are 12 league places below the Smardeners, certainly didn’t look the lower division team as they outplayed the side that on Sunday morning sat a top the Ashford Premier. Early in the game Troggs were one down when a corner came in and the ball was bundled into the net despite browns desperate efforts to clamber away under heavy pressure and the Troggs keeper remonstrated with the referee as he was sure he was illegally pushed off the ball. Things went from bad to worse shortly after as a long ball beat the newly formed central defensive trio of Dyke, Lee and Bruce, who failed to execute the offside trap and allowed the Mersham attack in behind and they duly despatched the 2nd.
The small pitch and the poor and seemingly one sided performance from the referee did little to help the Troggs but excuses cannot be made for a lacklustre performance. The introduction of Eels, Pearce and Pepper did liven up the Troggs into some late attacks but they failed to create too many decent chances and only really tested the keeper on a couple of occasions with Pearce coming closest to scoring for the Troggs. The last ten minutes of the game was marred by hard challenges and constant blowing of the whistle from the referee to penalise the Troggs, Sam Leggis found himself in the book again and as usual perhaps deservedly so!
Troggs missed out on another shot at local rivals Bethersden as Mersham move on to face them in the quarter finals.
The day got worse for the Troggs fans when the news broke of premier division results, Market beating Bliby 4-1 and Cavaliers going down 4-2 to Bromley Green which meant Troggs long tenure at the top of the table came to an end as they drop to second, a point behind Market Hotel, who still have a game in hand.
Next weekend Troggs face Brewmasters at home and gaffa Graham Stocker is expected to shake things up following the poor performance.

Amazing
Boys, I have to say it; you were all amazing today! I'm so proud of what we are achieving this season. Sorry to gush a bit but today was a really good performance. We wanted to win so much more than they did and it really showed. It was a shame to concedce two late goals as 5-0 would have sounded a lot better but it was still fantastic. Let's keep it up and see where we end up come the end of the season. Oh special mention to The back 5 and Aaron for today. You boys deserved a clean sheet for the way you played today, well done.

Bromley Green 1-2 Troggs
Report by Paul Newman
On a bright and dry Sunday morning at the Swan centre Bromley Green hosted newly promoted Smarden outfit, Troggs FC.
Green started the brighter side and had the better of the first 15 minutes but were unable to create any close range chances with Troggs keeper, Brown impressingly seeing off some long range efforts. The village side then sprung into life with the midfield trio of Newman, Dyke snr and Moon winning more of the ball and forwards Roffey and Dyke jnr getting a few sniffs up front. It was Dyke jnr who opened the scoring with a deft finish from 10 yards, typical of the young strikers form this term, after some neat work from Moon and Roffey down the right gave the clinical youngster his chance. Troggs then enjoyed plenty of chances as the first half evolved but failed to increase there lead with both front men and Newman all off target.
The second half saw the home side again start brighter and they were rewarded on 60 minutes with Green's nippy right winger getting in behind the Troggs defence and hitting his shot in off the post and the outstretched Brown's hand. The visitors were then subjected to a spell of pressure from Green but the Trogg's defence stood strong with all the back 5 impressive.
The Troggs then began to find their feet again and after a Newman pass found Carlton (on for Dyke), the veteran midfielder's cross found Roffey's run who slotted from close range off the keeper to retore the away sides lead and hand them a well earned three points after a nervey final 15 minutes. It was third time lucky for Troggs who have lost out to Bromley Green in the last two attempts. They will now look to push on and talk of a title challenge from the newly promoted side would have been laughed off a few months ago, no one's laughing now.

Not gonna do a match report as it was a gutting mornings football. In reflection I think tireness from the battle the day before against Addington played a part. That's not an excuse as there shouldn't be any but I think we should stay together and take the possitives from the game. If we were offered the situation we find ourselves in at the start of the season then I think we would take it. So let's enjoy a sunday off (those of us who are slim enough to be getting one!!!)

Troggs 3-2 Aldington
Troggs battled through a tough home fixture against Aldington to emerge victorious.
Troggs looked far from comfortable for the first twenty minutes and fell behind to a well worked Aldington goal. On the back foot for the majority of the half the Troggs had to rely on counter attacks for their chances. Sam Leggis, relishing his new role on the left wing, dropped the ball into Matt Dyke who cut inside nutmegging the defender in the process and bent the equaliser into the top corner.
The second half saw a much more confident performance from Troggs as they started to get the ball down and play. The pressure finally told when Matt Dyke forced a mistake from the keeper and slotted home into an empty net. With 25 minutes left to play the Troggs set up camp and attempted to survive the onslaught that followed. Some Heroic defending and customary super stops from Aaron Brown wasn't enough to hold off Aldington and they finally found a break through with around ten minutes left.
Heads could have dropped but the Troggs side this year has already developed a never say die attitude and it was summed up when skipper Paul Newman took full advantage of yet another keeper error and snuck home the winner.
Troggs move onto 6 points from a possible 12, a total I'm sure all would have been happy with looking onto the season and with other sides yet to play 4 games they move into the dizzy heights of third place.

Bethersden 4-3 Troggs
Troggs fought hard on the small Bethersden pitch but mistakes were paid for as Bethersden edged them out.
Moon got the first for Troggs from the spot. Dyke, on for the injured carlton, had to go off with a head injury covering the pitch with blood but returned, complete with blood holding turban, to notch and when brother Matt made it 3-3 it looked like Troggs had made something of the game.
However it wasn't to be and Troggs were dumped out the cup

Troggs 0-2 Market
The Troggs knew that a season opening fixture against the holding champions Market Hotel was always going to be tough. Caretaker manager George Dyke opted for wingbacks in an effort to contain Market and hope for a breakaway goal and for the first half and more the plan almost came together.
Aaron 'The Juggler' Brown kept market at bay with some top class stops in the first half after some resolute and at times heroic defending from the back 5. Stocker, Carty and Lee in the middle throwing themselves in front of shots and Dyer and Leggis on the wings doing all they can to stop the wide advance. One to many Lunges from Leggis saw him pick up a yellow.
Matt 'Didier' Dyke held the ball up well up top whilst the effervescent Moon latched onto a couple of through balls but couldn't find an end product. In the middle Newman threw himself about like a man possessed whilst Carlton and Eels tried to dictate the play. Skipper Carlton found the best chance of the half as his bullet header from a Moon corner lashed just wide of the right hand post but all in all the Troggs happy to go in at half time level with the Champions.
The second half saw much of the same, but as Dyke came off at top for Ryan the Troggs lost a holding player and with that some of the possession. On 65 minutes Aaron 'Juggler' Brown handled the ball like a hot potato and despite protests from many Market players and small child behind the goal was adjudged not to have dropped the ball over the line. Tired legs all round forced both sides into long ball tactics and a long throw into the box saw market nick the lead with around 20 minutes to go. Heads dropped after a brave effort looked to be fruitless and despite the introduction of Charlie and Bob, a couple of chances went untaken and it was Market who killed the game off with a well taken finish on around 80 minutes.
A strong showing from Troggs was not enough to earn any points but can certainly be built upon. With Roffey (International Duty), Gibbo (Suspension), Dyke Snr (Groin injury) and possibly Adamson (wetness) to return to first team action in the next week or two there are no reasons to be down beat about Troggs first season in the Prem.
Elsewhere in the League Troggs next opponents Kennington saw off Bliby 7-3 whilst Cavaliers slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Aldington and Bromley Green and Brewmasters played out a 5-5 draw.
